Nimrod is a coming of age story taking place in a forgotten New Jersey town during the summer leading up to senior year. Rod is a daydreamer who bears a singular ambition: to meet Sting, believing that the English rockstar is the only person capable of fixing his broken family and liberating him from his sheltered existence. Rod’s mother, known to locals as the eccentric Woman in White, blames Green Day for killing her first son while his father has been busy eating his feelings for twenty years, landing him in the hospital with a ruptured gallbladder. Independent for the first time, Rod sets out to accomplish his mission and with the help of Cat, the new girl in town, he begins to discover the power of spontaneous adventures, driving with the windows rolled down and the music turned up, and blazing one’s own trail.
